The continuous-discontinuous carbon fiber tow in is DiscoTex® unique: 1.3 in. lengths of CF structural tow are overwrapped with a binder fiber, then woven into textile .
DiscoTex® woven fabric "stretches" into and over corners of complex forms simplifying production times without losing key material characteristics, bridging, or void creation.
DiscoTex® has the similar in-family strength and material properties as typical CF but PMCs can be easily formed and at a 35% lower production cost of parts delivering high value and ease of manufacture.
